Enterprise Deployment and License Management Guide
Deployment path from pilot seats to plant-wide rollout, license server planning, output directory standards, and maintenance responsibilities.
Recommended three-phase rollout
- 1Pilot (2–4 weeks): 3–10 seats and one or two typical project batches to establish utilization and operational baselines.
- 2Expansion (1–3 months): Roll out to all plotting seats in the department; standardize task templates, output directories, and naming conventions.
- 3Rollout: Deploy across departments, connect to enterprise plotter queues and license servers, and integrate into daily operations.
Output directory and naming conventions
Batch output generates many files quickly; without a proper directory structure, archiving and tracing costs can outweigh time savings. Organize outputs as "project number / batch date / output format," with filenames including sheet number, revision, and format.
Standardize naming rules during the pilot phase and embed them in task templates to prevent departments from creating their own.
Maintenance responsibilities
- CAD administrator: plugin versions, task templates, and lineweight and font mapping configurations.
- IT Operations: License Server, Output Storage, and Plotter Queue Availability
- Engineering Department: Batch Content Validation, Precheck Result Handling, and Output Confirmation.
